Hey y’all, it has been a minute since I last posted something on my blog. My exchange year is almost halfway done and I’m loving and enjoying every single minute of it. Last week, my host family and me hopped on the plane to go to Minneapolis, Minnesota. When I got off the plane, I already started to feel the cold weather which is the complete opposite to the hot Texas weather I was used to. We stayed in a condo in downtown Minneapolis for 9 days. My oldest host brother just opened a new franchise restaurant in Minnesota and we helped out during these 9 days in the kitchen doing dishes, preparing salads and a lot of other work which turned out to be a lot of fun. The day before Thanksgiving, it started snowing and we had about 10 inches of snow. It was a lot of fun to play in the snow and do snowball fights but the drive to my host grandmas house, where we spend Thanksgiving, was sketchy because the roads were iced. After we arrived we still had to buy the most important food for Thanksgiving in the USA: a turkey. The next day started with trying to remove the snow in front of the house and a fun snowball fight. Around noon, other people cyme to the house and I’m pretty sure we all ate way too much of the delicious food. I personally ate turkey, mashed potatoes, broccoli, sweet potatoes mixed with marshmallows, a cookie salad and three pieces of an amazing apple pie. Later that day, we drove home to the condo and spend two more day sin Minnesota. This concluded my first ever Thanksgiving. I had so much fun in Minnesota and it was awesome to spend a lot of time with my host family and the food was just amazing.
There will be more posts in near future, so stay tuned for that.
