Exchange year with Jánek

My name is Jánek Florack and I will spend my exchange year in the city Flower Mound in Texas, USA. You can find more information about Flower Mound and the area in my other post. Just starting with the standard information: I’m a 16 year-old student from Mönchengladbach, Germany and in my free time I like to play soccer and spend time with my friends. Although I only play soccer in a club, I like to do every kind of sports.

But now to the question that might interest you all the most: Why have I decided to do such a big step and leave my family and friends behind for a whole year? The answer is pretty easy. I’ve always wanted to meet new people from different countries with different cultures and values. And especially the USA. The country I admired since I was in fourth grade where it all started with a presentation about New York. Doing research I was more and more interested and fascinated by this enormous and mesmerizing country. This admiration and the dream of doing such an exchange year grew bigger in the first years of middle school where I got to know the American culture a little bit better. So for four years now, I plan on doing this exchange year and I would like to take you with me and let you know about my experiences and impressions.
