Flower Mound and Dallas – more than J.R. Ewing
In this text I’m going to talk about the city and the area where I will spend my exchange year and find a new home. Flower Mound, with about 60.000 inhabitants, is located 30 miles in the north of Dallas, the biggest city in the area.
In the 1840s, there were first settlements in the area of Flower Mound by early settlers such as Andrew Morris and David Kirkpatrick. Also, street names were dedicated to these two “founders” of Flower Mound.
Being located in the large and widespread state Texas, Flower Mound has many different and interesting things to offer like the Grapevine Lake, where many people like to spend their time during the hot summer. It doesn’t matter whether to do water-skiing, wakeboarding or just swimming in the water. Either way you will have a great time with your family and friends.
Dallas has got 1,3 million inhabitants and with its variety in attractions and activities is Dallas one of the most popular cities in the USA. It was incorporated in 1856 and since then an amazing skyline grew all over the city. Dallas has several buildings over 700 feet (about 210 meters) to offer which gives everyone who is in Dallas a breathtaking view and experience.
