Hey everyone,

the start of my exchange year has finally come. At 6.30 am my plane started in Duesseldorf, after saying goodbye to my family for a whole year. In only one hour I reached the airport of Munich, where I was a little bit nervous because it was the first time for me to fly alone, the airport is very big and unreviewable. After I strengthened myself with a sandwich and a coffee my next plane left at 10.55 am for my final destination: Dallas Fort Worth Airport. 10 hours of being in the air at an altitude of 40000 ft (12000m). Although my monitor or little TV didn’t work, the flight went by very fast and I reached the Dallas Airport. My host family picked me up at the airport. It was very nice to finally meet all of them. Although I wasn’t really hungry, they asked me what I would like to eat first in America. A friend of mine recommended Chick-fil-a but unfortunately it was closed, so we went to In-N-Out Burger, where I ate my first American burger. After that, we went home and my family showed me everything and I got my first impressions of the American lifestyle: it’s awesome!! After dinner, my day was already over because I was very tired from the flight. So that’s it: the start of my exchange year!
